My work involves exploration of the book, investigating ways in which the familiar
codex form can be transformed into one that intrigues and surprises.
By applying various folding and cutting techniques to the pages of the books,
three-dimensional sculptural forms are created that break away from the usual
format. Elements of stitch and fabric add a further ambiguity to the resulting forms.
Text is an important element in my work,
though it becomes illegible due to the
manipulation of the pages. The meaning of the text is not important to
me,
as my interest lies more in its use for decorative purposes.
