As a textile artist I am interested in three dimensional form, colour and tactile surfaces. The forms I produce are intended to stimulate the senses. The mixture of materials used to construct these forms creates a contrast in touch sensations; textile processes and their infinite tactile qualities are a continuing source of fascination. I have researched into a specific audience for my work since I am interested in how adults and children with disabilities might benefit from it. I have become aware of how color and the feeling of objects, can comfort, or physically stimulate different groups of people. Ruth
