Clare Came Chief Study: Printed Textiles 

My inspiration has primarily come from, "my favourite things", (cats etc) plants, flowers and decorative objects. I have grouped objects together into themes and collections for example; "My favourite things", "Plants and flowers" and "Breakfast time", as starting points for my work to evolve. I have an avid interest in surface decoration and colour. Emphasis has been placed on drawing and picture surface itself.

Decorative pattern and surface quality have been used to embellish and enhance the surface of my paintings. Scraping, scratching, inscribing and obliterating the surface has amplified the characteristics of each medium used.

I have produced contemporary textiles for interiors.
